Kice Island Shelling Tours

What to Expect

On our Kice island shelling tours we depart from Caxambas marina on the south end of Marco Island.  Depending on your preference and group size we have many different tour options to accommodate your party.  Marco island sits atop the 10,000 island. With so many amazing beaches just south of us, only accessible by boat, these islands are littered with amazing shells. Our guides have a incredible understandings of tides, currents, weather patterns and prevalence of different specie of shells to help you find the treasures you are searching for. Whether it’s your first time combing the beach or your an avid collector,  we know where to find the best shells this area is know.

Sand dollars, Florida cones, Murex, horse conch, lighting whelks, junonia’s, Tulips, olives and so many more are extremely popular finds on shelling tours. We provide complementary shelling bags on all of our tours! If your interested in shelling on your own, we offer kayak rentals to get you out on your own. Our boats are very kid friendly, with comfortable seating and a ladder for easy boarding. A Cooler filled with ice for your drinks and snacks are complimentary on all of our boats. Safety is our #1 concern, thats why we offer a handheld VHF radio for your group to communicate with the captain while your on the beach.

 

**Live Shelling is not allowed on any of our trips.**

 

Florida Adventures and Rentals, is committed to teach our guests about to ecology that makes the Rookery Bay Reserve and the Ten Thousand Islands a tropical paradise. All of our captains and guides that will accompany you are Florida Naturalist though the University of Florida. Even empty shells play a curial role in the eco-system.

Departure Information

We depart from Caxambas Park Marina at the south end of Marco Island. Caxambas Park is a beautiful water access point located at 909 Collier Ct. This location includes a four-acre park, ample free parking, restrooms, concessions for sale from sunscreen to food and allows easy access to the northern Ten Thousand Islands or Gulf of Mexico.

  • Guests per Boat: Maximum 12 guests per boat
  • What to bring: Camera, sunscreen, sun protective clothing (sun shirts, hats, sunglasses), snacks and refreshments (please try to limit the amount of single use plastic you bring on our trips)

 

Rescheduling: You can voluntarily reschedule or cancel the tour 24 hours prior to departure at no charge
